What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy can be used to treat many psychological and medical conditions, complementing conventional medicine. It can be used to break habits and to resolve issues where other approaches haven't worked.

What are the treatable symptoms?

A wide variety of conditions which have a psychological element can be helped with hypnosis, below are some of the most common symptoms that hypnotherapy can remedy.

    Hypnotherapy is a team effort. I'm not here to ‘fix’ you, but to help you make the changes you want. Your first session usually lasts about 1½ hrs, as this will allow us enough time to discuss your reasons for coming for hypnotherapy, and for us to get to know each other and work out your specific goals.

    We will also discuss how many sessions will be beneficial, but this is totally dependent on you, how you feel, your financial situation and time constraints. You are in control.

    We will start with some gentle hypnosis, including learning self-hypnosis, and agree some manageable home exercises for you to do between sessions. This is to reinforce what we have been discussing and to speed up your results.

    Subsequent sessions last about an hour. The frequency of these depends on you. We will review how you have been since the previous session and discuss any concerns you may have. We will then continue working towards your goal. Don’t worry if you feel your goals may have changed, this can be perfectly normal. It may be that your symptom has a deeper underlying cause you might wish to explore, but that is entirely up to you.
